FPV Pilot Backpack Checklist

Before you take off, make sure your drone and camera are in perfect working order. Cause it can happen that you forget about the last crash that needed repairs. 😅

FPV Drone/s (e.g., iFlight Nazgul5)

GoPro or another Action Camera (e.g., Hero 10/11)

ND Filters for the GoPro (especially in bright, sunny conditions) – To achieve perfect exposure and prevent jello.

Propellers (at least 1-2 spare sets) – In case you break a prop while flying.

Propeller Nuts or Screws – These tiny pieces can come loose, so always have spares.

MicroSD Cards (at least 64-128GB) – For both your GoPro and FPV drone. It needs to be fast enough (V30)

GoPro Spare Batteries – GoPro batteries tend to drain quickly, so extra power is always a good idea.

GoPro Quick-Release Mounts – Easy to swap and mount your camera depending on your setup.

Power up and stay safe— handle your LiPos with care! Quick tip: Label them with stickers to keep track and fly them in order without constantly checking their charge. 🔋

FPV LiPo Batteries (at least 3-6 packs) – The number you bring depends on your flight time, but it’s always better to have more than run out mid-flight.

LiPo Charger – A multi-port charger is great for charging multiple batteries at once.

LiPo Battery Bag (fireproof, for transport and storage) – Safety first!

External Power Bank – To charge your GoPro, Goggles, or other devices.

LiPo Voltage Checker – To keep track of your battery voltage.

A stable connection is crucial for a smooth flight. Check your radio and FPV gear before heading out. Test everything to ensure it’s working properly 🤙

FPV RC (e.g. TBS Tango II)

Neckstrap Mount so you can´t drop your remote during flight.

FPV Goggles (e.g., DJI Goggles)

Goggle Battery (including charger) – Don’t get caught with a dead battery during a flight.

Spare Antennas – Both for your drone, transmitter, and goggles. They can get damaged or lost, so always pack extras. (I actually don´t have them with me, just wanted to complete the list 😊)

Accidents happen: Whether it’s a broken propeller, a loose wire, or a bent antenna, having the right tools and spare parts on hand can save the day. 🔧

Tool Kit (screwdrivers, hex wrenches, small pliers) – A basic setup for any in-the-field repairs.

Propeller Mounting Tool – A small but essential tool for swapping props quickly and easily.

Cable Ties and/or Velcro Straps – For tidying up cables or making quick fixes.

Spare Parts – Arms, motors, ESCs, screws – bring a selection of parts in case something breaks.

Soldering Kit – If you need to repair wiring or make electrical fixes. Think of powerbank or lipo power supply

Electrical Tape – For securing wires or fixing small components.

Don’t forget some other useful extras. I didn’t invest in these at first, but they’re actually more important than you might think. 💭

Backpack or Case – A dedicated FPV bag to keep all your gear organized and safe.

Notebook – To save your footage asap.

Live-stream via Cosmos, Phone, or RC (Depends on your setup) – If you want to live-stream your flight or let someone watch you fly.

Signal Beeper or GPS Tracker – In case your drone flies out of range and gets lost.

Landing Pad Mat – To protect your drone from dust and dirt and help with landing.
